Adarsh Center for Empowerment

The Adarsh Centre for Empowerment (ACE), a vocational training facility, was established in 2022 so that children who come out of the Special School training may be accommodated for a fruitful vocational training in the selected trades and vocations suitable to them. Currently around114 individuals (aged 18+) utilize vocational training facilities at ACE. A Centre Head oversees 25 teaching, non-teaching, and technical staff members. A team of dedicated and qualified staff consisting of Special Educators, Physiotherapists, and Psychologist work in coordination to provide the highest quality of services at ACE. The Bakery and Confectionary Unit, Melting Hearts at ACE is managed separately by a Manager and a professional Chef.

A large number of individuals have been successfully trained and certified in vocational skills through NIOS-approved courses. In partnership with Inclusys, an NGO that provides computer training for neurodivergent children, 16 trainees from ACE completed their computer training and are now engaged in regular data entry jobs.

A very encouraging and timely gesture from the Rotary International through Rotary Cochin Central Club in the form of monitory support of Rs 45 Lakhs towards powering this center was a boon from the Heavens! This social investment by the largest mankind service organisation in the world is indeed a shot in the arm for Adarsh!

In the past 3 years ACE is emerging as a template for convergence of social cause resources of the civil society and corporates.
